2018-12 - Katie Hurwitz

Metta Students visited Walpole High School in Walpole, MA in on Wednesday, December 19th to honor Katie Hurwitz. Katie is our December 2018 and 58th Metta Students recipient. Our mission is to recognize high school students who perform random acts of love and kindness. Katie epitomizes what we are all about.

Katie, a senior, volunteers in many school and community service activities at Walpole High School. She is the Founder and President of the Random Acts of Kindness Club at the high school. This club has had a tremendous impact on student and faculty at Walpole High School. Katie volunteers as a CCD teacher, Music for Food Concert Organizer, playing music for elderly at nursing homes, assistant leader of Girl Scout troop, Bible School Lead Science teacher and tutor to students. She is involved in the Creative Writing Club, the school newspaper, and guest cellist at local churches and schools.

We are proud to have Katie join the Metta Students family. Special thanks Kathleen Frattasio and the administration at Walpole High School for giving Metta Students the opportunity to share Katie’s story.
